Galerie Michael Haas congratulates Georg Baselitz on his 80th birthday. On this occasion we show 38 drawings to the Strandbilder (beach pictures).

Galerie Michael Haas shows in the first exhibition for 2018 drawings by Georg Baselitz for the painting series “Strandbilder”.

In 1981, Georg Baselitz drew 38 drawings in pencil, black chalk and blue ink to the painting series of beach pictures, which were created in the same year, and depict sedentary or reclining figures in a variety of poses. From mid-January on, Galerie Michael Haas shows all 38 drawings.

Event announcement: On the occasion of the 80th birthday, the Fondation Beyeler Georg Baselitz dedicates a retrospective. It can be seen from 21st January to 29th April 2018 in Riehen near Basel. Parallel to the exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler, the Kunstmuseum Basel is presenting works on paper by Georg Baselitz.

Exhibition period: Monday, 22nd January to Saturday, 17th February 2018
