until 18.05 | #4242ARTatBerlin | Galerie Tammen shows from 12. April 2024 the exhibition Naturstreit – Erzählungen im Anthropozän by the artist Harald Gnade and the exhibition Zeit Falten by the artist Andreas Theurer.
The often colorful plasticity of Harald Gnade ‘s three-dimensional paintings can be understood as abstraction, but they evoke strong associations of natural landscapes that seem to float on the canvas like plots in the airy, watery or monochrome surrounding space. The artist attempts to narrate our contemporary understanding of nature as a mix of the artifactual and the natural world.
Andreas Theurer Wall objects 2018 – 2023, corrugated cardboard, acrylic
Andreas Theurer’s sculptural objects, which at first glance do not reveal their materiality, are equally captivating due to the alienation of perspective and the use of corrugated cardboard as a material. His works are characterized by an illusionistic spatial structure that works its way into the surrounding space and calls into question the concrete location of both the object and the viewer.
Both artists, whose works come together in this double exhibition, address the world shaped by human activity on completely different levels.
Opening: Friday, 12. April 2024, 7 – 10 pm
Exhibition dates: Friday, 12. April until Saturday, 18. May 2024
