High – Low – Flat | Exhibition on the Day of Printmaking | Galerie Sievi | 11.03.-30.04.2022

until 30.04. | #3357ARTatBerlin | Galerie Sievi shows from 11th March 2022 the exhibition High – Low – Flat (Hoch – Tief – Flach), an exhibition of printmaking works to mark Printmaking Day (15 March 2022).

Works by the artists Detlef Olschewski, Horst Janssen, Maria Maier, Gert Frabritius, Birgit Fechner and John-Franklin Koenig are on display. The figurative colour etchings by Horst Janssen and the informal works by Detlef Olschewski were partly printed with up to 14 colours – Olschewski’s woodcuts with the lost printing block and in his own printing process.

The woodcuts by Gert Fabritius relate to the choice of themes chair, house, ladder and boat. Fabritius works with reduced editions. His woodcuts are produced with different printing blocks using his own printing process.

The silkscreen by Maria Maier is entitled “Blossoming Time”. It was created in 2014 as a screen print with 4 screens using the hand print method on copperplate board. John-Franklin Koenig was a master of lithography. Monotypes by Birgit Fechner are shown.

Vernissage: Friday, 11 March 2022, from 4 to 9 p.m., at 7 p.m. musical accompaniment / Robert Würz, saxophone – with the usual rules
