until 13.03. | #1882ARTatBerlin | Raab Galerie shows from 21st February 2018 the exhibition “Gestern im Vorübergehen” (yesterday in passing) by the artist Stephanus Heidacker.

Stephanus Heidacker’s works seem serious at first glance and have the antique or themes such as Picasso as a background. But if you let yourself in on the works, one understands the very subtle humor. A Roman sits naturally at the desk and looks out the window, so a very commonplace action, in an atypical setting. He looks at a landscape full of columns and the color world is very colorful, not as you would expect it then.

It’s about a game with the real and the past. The reversal of the dimensions is also exciting. Usually, artists let a two-dimensional canvas appear three-dimensional. Heidacker does the opposite. He paints a three-dimensional studio scene as a two-dimensional cubist image; again in a color world that is too colorful for classical Cubism.

The result is works of art in a variety of colors that inspire you when you engage in the game and the world of thought of Heidacker.
Many of his works could be book titles of novels, each picture tells its own story.

The exhibition will show works by the artist during various phases of his creative career that allow him to gain an insight into his fantastic world of ideas.

Vernissage: Tuesday, February 20th 2018, 6 – 9 p.m.

Exhibition period: Wednesday, February 21st to Tuesday, March 13th 2018
