Migrant Birds Projects is a Berlin-based and Beijing-based contemporary art project providing a showcase for artists and services in the cultural industries. Working out of the gallery space at No. 5 Koppenplatz in the heart of Berlin, the project aims to offer a professional platform for cross-cultural communication between China and Europe with a focus on young contemporary Chinese art and design.
The project works through many facets. Promoting young emerging artists in Germany and Europe, Migrant Birds Projects engages artists and designers by offering gallery space for exhibitions, an artist-in-residence program, regular gallery talks and support in liaising with museums, curators, up-and coming festivals and more.
At the cross-roads between the Far East and Europe, Migrant Birds provides various and upon demand tailored educational programs focusing on the detailed mechanics of the cultural industries in Germany / China as well as workshops; tours for curators and collectors both in Germany and China are offered, with the aim of creating and cementing long-term, mutually beneficial working relationships for our clients; as a consultancy we also provide professional support for intercultural projects as much as in high-level art and design trading between these two different worlds.
