until 26.10. | #4380ARTatBerlin | nüüd.berlin gallery shows from 11. September 2024 the solo exhibition UNTERWEGS by the artist Sabine Beyerle.

The solo exhibition features paintings by Berlin artist Sabine Beyerle (*1975) that tell of being on the road. While travelling, the artist collects ideas for her paintings with her camera – this can be in the far distance, but also just around the corner in a Berlin backyard or in a Brandenburg meadow landscape

In her pictures, she focuses on the fleeting and the inconspicuous. What she looks for with her camera are structures and details that are often taken for granted and ignored. Chairs, ladders or a string of lights on a wire fence appear

Sabine Beyerle, Sonnenwende, 2024, Öl-Acryl auf Leinwand, 120×100 cm.

Her paintings tell of the ephemeral, the play of light and shadow, the rustle of a gust of wind and the growth and decay of nature. Generous gestural abstract forms are combined with highly precise naturalistic painting. Pours of colour, generous brushstrokes and dissolutions are at the beginning of her working process. The result is an abstract pictorial background that invites chance and chaos into her work

Sabine Beyerle, Riposto, 2024, Öl-Acryl auf Leinwand, 40×30 cm.

Sabine Beyerle’s paintings, which at first glance appear figurative, are interwoven with elements of abstract painting. These “empty spaces” float like free forms in the pictorial space and offer insights into the background and the painting process, while their function remains open and enigmatic. They function as formal pictorial elements, sometimes also as disturbances, but can also symbolise movement, wind, energy or growth and give the viewer room for their own interpretations
