On November 1, 2019, the messages of the art installation “Visions in Motion” by artist Patrick Shearn of Poetic Kinetics rose into the air at the Brandenburg Gate.
As part of the celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution and the fall of the Berlin Wall, 30,000 wishes, hopes and ideas will float on 30,000 people’s ribbons as part of the installation above the Straße des 17. Juni at the Brandenburg Gate until 10 November. Together with Moritz van Dülmen and Simone Leimbach, managing director and project manager of Kulturprojekte Berlin, the artist gave an insight into the floating installation.
Following the banners carried during the demonstrations of the Peaceful Revolution, tens of thousands of people in hundreds of workshops – including those of the Evangelical Church – have been involved in events and actions in schools, on the streets as well as at festivals, with their messages, wishes and hopes for the future or even their memories of the past. …
